Changing the rules of compensation is governed by the law
The retirement allowance equivalent (EAR), for some unemployed people under 60 who has contributed sufficiently to a full pension will be paid well this year. The decree establishing the extension of such assistance has been published Sunday 1st June Abolished on 1 January, the EAR will be finally restored to an exceptional basis for 2009. Last April, Nicolas Sarkozy had said in a letter addressed to the Secretary General of Force Ouvriere, Jean-Claude Mailly, he would ask the government "not to oppose the extension of the EAR to the end the year 2009 when this provision will be discussed in Parliament.
The long-term unemployed at the end of rights, under the age of 60 years but having contributed sufficiently, may therefore, tested, receive 968 euros per month.
